The NBA Division odds are up and today we’ll start with the Eastern Conference. Last season, these race wasn’t very close in the Atlantic as the Raptors ran away with it. That is not expected to be the case this year as it could be the most competitive division with the 76ers, Raptors and Celtics considered three of the best teams in the East. The Heat won the Southeast last year and they’ll be challenged again this year by the Wizards. While the Cavaliers almost certainly won’t be returning as the Central champions. These divisions look to be much more interesting than last season.

There is some question as to who is “next” in line as some books favor the Raptors and others favor the Sixers. The big question with Toronto is Kawhi Leonard. Is he back? Will he play hard? Will he fit with Kyle Lowry? While the Sixers are more about Markelle Fultz getting to the level of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. It will be interesting.

The Central Division is a two-team race. Mike Budenhozler was hired to be the Bucks new head coach and everyone is excited to see what he’ll be able to do with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton. I am a big fan of this team this season and I think they are just right as the favorite.
Indiana is interesting though. They all played hard last year and won 48 games then nearly eliminated the Cavs from the playoffs. The season was all about the ascension of Victor Oladipo. This one will be about if someone can join him at that level, Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis are the best candidates. That said, it’s tough to see them repeatable that level again this year as a lot of things went right for them.

The Wizards are the favorites in the Southeast Division with the Miami Heat not too far behind them. The Wizards, as is, are the much more talented team with John Wall, Bradley Beal and Otto Porter. While the Heat are the better coached, well-oiled machine. I think the Wizards should be the favorite here as if every is healthy, they are the better team. That is a big if though and the rumors of Jimmy Butler to Miami are out there. That would certainly change things in the Southeast.
