The NBA Division Odds are out and we already covered the Eastern Conference division odds, now we’ll tackle the West. Last year we saw the Rockets and Warriors almost laughably win their divisions. The Warriors had a 16-game advantage over the second place team and the Rockets had 17-game advantage over the next best team. Those two divisions don’t look to change much, but the Northwest is a different story. Only two games separated the first and fifth place team in this division last year and that will likely happen again this year. Let’s take a look.
The 2019 Portland Trailblazers are a very interesting team. Last season, they finished 49-33 which was good enough for third in the Western Conference. That is a bit misleading as the difference between third and eighth last season was two wins. When they got to the playoffs, they were absolutely rocked by Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans who swept them in the first round. So, it’s a bit difficult to really make ends of them here. That sweep really undid a lot that people think of the Blazers. I don’t know if that’s right, but it’s definitely happening.
