We are roughly 1/8th through the season and there is a lot of basketball left to be played. There are a lot of stories yet to play out and it is way too early to predict anything. Well, except maybe the Warriors winning another title. That said, there is a good enough sample size out there now that we think we know a little something about this league and we think there are some great value plays still on the board. Let’s take a look at our favorites for November.
You can say this about Toronto Raptors’ general manager Masai Ujiri, he takes big swings. After finishing last season with the second best record in the NBA only to be swept by LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round, he blew it up. He traded franchise legend DeMar DeRozan for Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green with no guarantee that the superstar Leonard would be there beyond this season. This is an all-in year for the Raps who have a win total of 54.5 after finishing with 59 last year.
The NBA Division odds are up and today we’ll start with the Eastern Conference. Last season, these race wasn’t very close in the Atlantic as the Raptors ran away with it. That is not expected to be the case this year as it could be the most competitive division with the 76ers, Raptors and Celtics considered three of the best teams in the East. The Heat won the Southeast last year and they’ll be challenged again this year by the Wizards. While the Cavaliers almost certainly won’t be returning as the Central champions. These divisions look to be much more interesting than last season.
